Hi! I'm Steph and we are the Sol Goods family... my partner Luke, and our kids Evie and Jax.
I started Sol Goods after wanting to naturally protect our faces when Luke and I travelled the coast of Central America chasing waves 8 years ago. What started as a small idea created a fire inside me to be better, do better and produce a suncare range that is safe, effective, and doesn’t come at the cost of our health and environment. Plastic is a real problem and if we want the next generation to enjoy our earth, then collectively I feel we should all be trying a little harder to cut down on our plastic consumption.
I have worked incredibly hard to create Sol Goods, often working late at night when the kids go to bed, and waking up early to work in and on the business before my day as a Mum begins (I’m sure so many of you can relate!). Why? Sunscreen can literally save lives by helping to protect our skin from damage that, at worst, can lead to skin cancer, and at best, will cause premature aging. I love being creative, I love being in the ocean, and I genuinely want to provide an honest brand that our customers can trust.
I still smile, so grateful when I paddle out to a line up to discover complete strangers with my zinc plastered all over their faces, or when I see someone putting their wetsuit on in the carpark and reaching for their pot of Sol Goods... so if you see someone who won’t stop smiling at you while slapping on your sun protection.... it’s more than likely me!
As a family, we are forever seeking out adventure, from surfing, wind foiling and paddle boarding, to skating, free diving and spearfishing to name a few.
Sol Goods has been tried and tested by outdoor enthusiasts and avid surfers, on all kinds of water sports as well as land activities and snow, in many different countries and climates including Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and Mexico! The feedback we have received has been amazing and has solidified our mission that you can use a mineral based sun protection that works.
