Tai Murphy
Chasing dreams and chasing waves is where it is at for up-and-coming surf Grom Tai Murphy.
He has a self-confessed raging addition to the ocean, and is passionate about finding different ways to improve his surfing, including training in and out of the water. He’s recently spent time at the Raglan Surf Academy where he has lived and breathed surfing.
One of his major achievements to date has been representing New Zealand at the 2024 ISA World Junior Surfing Championship in La Bocana/El Sunzal, El Salvador.
His hometown of Ohope Beach is a pretty magic spot, but Tai’s keen to move somewhere in the future with more consistent surf, participate in more surfing competitions around the world, and travel to as many different surf destinations as possible… with Sol Goods sunscreen by his side, of course!
His ultimate dream is to build a career from his passion for surfing. He’s on the right track.

Why I dig the goods.
“I love using Sol Goods sunscreen, I feel it is way better for my skin and actually stays on for hours. For example, while I was in Indonesia I ran out of Sol Goods sunscreen and had to go buy some basic sunscreen. After a couple days I noticed it started irritating my skin and causing pimples, and I was also getting way more sunburn because the basic sunscreen was just washing off after 20 minutes.”
